Seems that articles have changed tone since Carmen's mother touched ground in NZ and a page is up Facebook.
Traditional media will always use theescort title to drag in readers and of course this draws attention just as do stories about other tragedies like airplane crashes or works like how sex in ads help products sell. We may not agree with this but is seems to be part of the human psyche and I'm no psychiatrist.
My suggestion is that social media like Facebook and Twitter will actually help bring a human perspective to stories which are manipulated by mainstream media. Sex work is legal in NZ and I believe I heard was a profession which was even recommended by WINZ for people looking for work so whats the big deal?
Well it does seem to be one of those things which society has not fully accepted, and although it been around since year dot it is still not something people feel comfortable talking about or acknowledging. I think its getting more socially acceptable but it will take time. If we think that abortion or being gay is as being fully accepted I would suggest that it is still hard for individuals to discuss these matters or come out about them with friends and family and people in general.
Carmen is a mother, a daughter, a friend and a person who looks like she enjoyed her work and her life and no harm in that. I hope they find her soon.

I hope they find her alive a well...
