For want of one question mark (in bold) you have misinterpreted my post as my opinion when it was speculation/conjecture, hope that clears it up.
Fine hunn, now it is a question that it wasnt before. Punctuation makes a big differance and I'm not perfect at it either so no probs.
Coming to terms with it is very hard and has a huge effect on T's. Some do hide and others stand up. Each for their own reasons and no one way is right or wrong. I stand up and am open about it for this reason. Those who went before me, made my life easier so I inturn seek to make it easier to follow in my foot steps for other T's. What I have had to go through re discrimination, poor medical services, lack of money and employment problems is nothing compared to those who went through it all 20, 30 yrs ago.
I hope that those who follow behind and are still coming out dont have to face what I have or the others. So being honest and open is important to getting society to understand us. Lying will just suppress it and delay it.

Let me put it to you in simple terms Redknight, when you read something on the forum that you may or may not disagree with, do you not post something to express your feelings, thoughts and emotions regarding the topic. This is called free expression of speech whether it be for or against the topic discussed. You say why not just hide something that is true to oneself. Why conform to the beliefs of others to make them happy.

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Storm4u and her lovely team of ladies tonight. Why because I admire this woman in coming forward to express the truth about her life experiences. Why does she share it on the forum as she does, to give those who fear the ridicule of others to stand up and be counted for who and what they are, just as you or I would in their position. You cannot under any circumstances judge why a person would come out and express their true reality to a judgemental world apart from freeing oneself from the bondage of social conditioning. I urge you and others to go meet this lady and you too will discover the journey she takes and her reasoning behind why she is so open about this controversial subject that so many misunderstand and so few go in search to discover the true meaning.

Firstly I reply to this statement why not just hide it like many probably do?
Would you not stand up and fight for what you truly believed in. Do you not express what is truth for you. Do you not try to make it right if you feel others have misinterpreted what you expressed in words. Following the norm to make others happy is not being true to thyself!!! Saying what others want you to say for approval makes a person despise oneself so what can be gained from that. Nothing apart from self destruction and self hatred.

Having to come to terms with accepting the change must be very hard, why make your life harder than it need be by being so public about it?.

By Storm coming out into the open to discuss what she does, makes her life easier. It cements who she is as a person and it encourages those who are afraid like herself to be who they are and accept what they are. In so doing this they live fullfilled lives and not apease to the fantasies of others. There is no freedom in that way of living.

Im not saying theres anything wrong with the way you deal with it, but surely there must be pros and cons for both repressing it and coming out with it openly. I mean in some countries/cities it would be eaiser.

We dont live in some countries, we live in NZ babe. Good things dont come easy but they are worth fighting for.

NZ is probably not the easiest. I imagine in some very repressive countries it would be near impossible so you would have to repress it. Just wondering what was the tipping point?"

For want of one question mark (in bold) you have misinterpreted my post

If Storm has misinterpreted your post then so have I but you know what babe I really dont think so!!!

as my opinion when it was speculation/conjecture, hope that clears it up.

And as for the tipping point, I mean when one decides to no longer to hide it and embrace it fully?
When the opinions of others dont matter and being true to thyself does. Hope my interpretation of what I learnt tonight from this great lady helps you to understand it better. If it doesnt, the spoken word expresses so much more than the written. With the spoken word comes body language and emotion, something you cant get by reading a post on AF.

Well thanks Georgia and Storm, you both have answered my questions well. I hope that the issues raised tonight will inspire others out there to seek the strength as exhibited by storm and also help us all to be more understanding of the cause.

I missed the tipping bit sorry but still dont understand what is the meaning of 'tipping'? To me it is what my ladies get from clients when they have done a good job or when a truck disposes of its load of rubbish. Never heard it used in this way sorry.
