Porn, in itself is just filmed sex made to stimulate your mind. It lacks all the physical and SOCIAL experiences of having sex. (Things like taste, smell, touch (apart from your own hand on yourself), are all absent from the experience. So, it's a very exclusionary activity.

I had a conversation with an escort I was with about a year and a half ago, she said about the way that porn vs actual sex (which I had just had with her), are completely different experiences. Essentially she said that making masturbation to porn a regular thing will likely ruin the way your brain reacts to the physical experience of sex (which is, um..physical).

Back to personal habits, everything adds up in someway, whether it's your morning coffee ritual, remembering to lock the door, watching [TV show] every single night, drop your kids of in time etc.
So the more you do it, the less you're likely to forget it, aka you do it by automatic. Same with porn, automatic in your room by yourself with your computer results in your brain and body reacting to sex in a different way to if you where having sex on a regular basis.

    Catch my drift?
I think watching it excessively desensitises a guy or girl from the real act of sex.
Sex is very physical senses based. But it's also mind based, and senses based in the way of sight and smell. Guys and girls are different.
Us girls are emotional, we feel our way through life, our intuition is high, we sense a lot inwardly.
Guys are physical, they are set off by sight and smell and stimulated by touch.
Porn uses this to manipulate imagination in guys. Something different. It's exciting. A guys fantasies can be explored with no let down if girl isn't in to it, or if told your fantasies are wrong.

Is porn harmful if it releases tension? Allows guys to build confidence?
It's only harmful if guys expect all working girls to be porn stars. Some of us arnt pornstars!
Is it harmful for girls to try be like porn stars? Given porn is so huge in variety!
Is porn changing our expectations and that's what woman fear? Men fear in normal relationships?
Is porn more a risk physiologically?

Link for you to read if you want Is frequent masturbation causing penis health problems

Anyone who knows me knows that I am very curious about the penis. I think and this is just my opinion that it's not necessarily the porn but "very frequent"(I say very as there's nothing bad about a regular Ol' tug) masterbation, from research it seems to be a factor that over time can cause ed. According to the theory and stories that I've been told too much masterbation can lead to a loss of sensitivity. Which doesn't always cause ed, sometimes it can make it harder for a man to climax instead or both(this is in excess and over a long time). There hasn't been a lot of medical research into this topic as of yet but here's why it makes sense to me.
If a man masturbates he's usually a lot rougher with his hands than it would be with contact to a woman's mouth or vagina even with condom friction, thus if he damages the skin by rubbing too hard or not using enough lubrication it is bound to have some effect if it is happening frequently.
I had an ex partner who told me that this was the case with him. That over a short period of time he found he lost a lot of sensitivity and that intercourse and climaxing stopped feeling so intense as it once did.

A few other males have told me of similar stories. Not a one size fits all but I believe that they know their bodies.
It's not a bad thing though as far as I've seen ed is very curable and most other sexual issues can be worked on. Most WGs are very happy to help.
Psychologically porn probably doesn't have a great effect either, a lot of porn content nowadays makes my butt cheeks tighten but not all porn is unhealthy.

I think the cure for all of this is to keep a good balance and ratio. Something like 1:1. 1 fun porn session to 1 fun sex session.

Lets be clear someone wanking too much / watching too much porn is NOT a public health crisis.

I talk to a lot of ladies I see about sex in general, and this is an occupational observation I hear really often. To quote as closely as I can:

'It isn't the older guys who have erection problems, its the 20-40's who always struggle'
'I have to always stop the sex and go back to a hand job because he has gone soft'
'Young guys often want anal, because it is tighter, like their hand............ Too much wanking, and they cant come inside a woman normally anymore'

It comes up far too often to be a coincidence. I'm no psychologist, but (rightly or wrongly) I put it down to the more extreme porn that is now freely available, and guys needing a heightened level of stimulation as a result, although drug use is another possible cause. Whatever it is, I cant help but wonder what sex will be like for them at 50 or 60

It seems to be a really big issue, and most girls are noticing it. I wonder if Sex Workers are seeing something here that is not yet recognised mainstream.

Your confusing ED with lack of arousal. The inflation of the corpus tissues is a physical process which has no dependency on the sensitivity of the penis glands, they simply trigger the arousal state to which the body responds with an erection. ED is when the body can't physically create or keep an erection.

One thing I've heard quite often in recent years from counselor type people and sex educators is that porn is altering what people expect sex to be like, especially in teens and young adults as well as confusing the parameters of consent because a lot of porn now is quite aggressive and demeaning towards females. SO from that point of view porn is very damaging to society in that its adversely affecting the way we intimately relate to each other. I think this is especially true for young males. Teenage boys watch porn and with no-one to tell them differently they think it's the normal way that sex should go. They think they should be able to grab her by the pussy and aggressively fuck her from any direction and in any hole without once obtaining consent of any kind.

You have hit the nail squarely on the head here WM. I fear that young women are accepting the situation simply because they assume that the porn they see is normal, and have no exposure to anything to the contrary.

The content only exists because there is a demand for it, but sadly it has spread to viewers who were not specifically targeting such extreme content.

I have to say that in the case of content like this, I am in favour of some level of control when it comes to younger people. I just think that normalising this to people who know no better is a huge step backward.
