Hey c'mon, they "learned something about themselves!"

Some were doomed to failure from the outset, - they'd already made up their minds at the moment they met, so they were just going through the motions until the end of the 'experiment'. One of them, Lacey only went on because she's after a job presenting on bravo tv, - so her motivations were wrong, it was about getting them publicity rather than a genuine desire to find a long term partner., so they were going on the show for the wrong reasons.

I reckon some of it was set ups by the producers, I reckon when Vicky went to stay with Andrew, and she saw a poo in his toilet, and she gasped, the producers put it there for effect to see her reaction. Ben was sailing close to the wind with Hayden, the big wrestler, when he started getting lippy with him, I thought Hayden might go around to Ben's side of the table, put Ben in a sleeper hold, and that would be the end of Ben to everyone's relief. Bel had already been on 'The Bachelor' so she has liking for the camera and limelight.

The US series has a much better success rate: 10 of the 15 couples are still together after the 'experiment' compared to one in six here, and none in 30 in Australia.

I have doubts about the experts as well, remind me not to book an appointment with them.

Those experts weren't even real therapists! One was apparently an 'expert" in Tinder and thats about the extent of her research. I do wonder how they sleep at night knowing they were involved in deliberately mismatching people (some of whom were genuinely seeking love) for the sake of entertaining us.

The “experts” were also merely talent, just like the other cast members, but playing a different role.

I guess when taking on these reality TV positions, one would be thinking of future possibilities for ones career as a result of participation. Many of the cast members took the opportunity to get some kind of professional “plug” of some sort.

Reality TV is here to stay regardless, love it or hate it.

PS I still wonder what happened to the people in the original reality tv show, Sylvania Waters. Anyone know?
